Nathan R. LoftinNathan (“Nate”) R. Loftin, Esq. graduated from the University of Utah in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology. While pursuing his undergraduate studies, Nate attended the Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy in Salt Lake City, and became a certified peace officer. Additionally, during his time in Utah, Nate worked full time as a correctional habilitative specialist in the mental health unit at the Utah State Prison.

Nate went on to receive a J.D. from Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, CA where he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in his 2L legal writing course. He has worked for the firm since the fall of 2003, and was admitted to practice law in California in December, 2004.

In addition to estate planning, business planning, and related tax planning, a major focus of Nate’s practice is trust administration and probate, and he serves as the lead attorney on several probate cases. He has assisted Zeb in researching and drafting study materials for the National Business Institute’s legal seminar, specifically regarding estate planning for qualified plans and IRAs and other advanced estate planning techniques. While at the firm, Nate has helped clients save tens of millions of dollars in estate tax, has assisted in the administration of over $100 million worth of trust estate assets, and has represented clients in several high net worth estate tax audits and property tax reassessment appeals, all of which have resulted in favorable outcomes for the clients.
